Hudson High School’s New Dimensions class took its annual trip to New York City from March 10 to 17. During the week, the class immersed itself in the culture of the Big Apple, from seeing Broadway shows to having snowball fights in Central Park.

While in New York City, the class participated in a variety of academic activities, such as visiting the United Nations and going to Ellis Island. Each day, however, brought on cultural experiences. The class went to an improv show, haggled for deals in Chinatown and sat in on arraignment hearings at a Manhattan courthouse.

New Dimensions teachers Nick Chiorian and Brian Carbaugh, Social Studies teacher Mark Cuva and English teacher Lauren Scharlotte chaperoned the trip. Scharlotte, who took the place of Unit Principal Maureen Schreiner on the annual trip, will be replacing Carbaugh in teaching the English curriculum of the course next year.

As part of New Dimensions, I spent the week taking photographs in order to capture our experience in New York City. Below are the highlights of the trip. Because of the volume of photos and different activities, they are separated by each day.
